At the moment, these pages only contain photographs I took in France and in Egypt.

I enjoy travelling in France - not just because the price of everything except Scotch whisky appears to be much cheaper there - but because I like the people, the countryside, the small villages, the food. I guess I'm what could be called a Francophile, but it would be truer to say I feel that I'm European, more than British. I'm one of those people who cannot understand why Britain did not join the Euro zone in 1999, with all of the advantages that that would offer. I'd like to see a United States of Europe, and deplore the action of our local press, and political parties, in keeping the population of this country totally in ignorance of what Europe is now all about.

Egypt has been my dream destination. I visited it in 1997 for the first time, and will be returning later this year. To see buildings that are 5000 years old, and still showing traces of their original colours is mind-blowing. It is humbling to see what another civilisation was creating, while we were still dressed in skins and painting ourselves with woad. I hope that the photographs I've chosen will give a taste for the country, and make even more people feel like visiting it.

The Egyptian pages are being completely redesigned, so over the next few weeks, the links might not work, and not all the pictures will be available. As well as that, the backgrounds and buttons will change. Sorry about this, but I think the result will be worthwhile.
