Hadfield is just inside the Northwest of England, but as I live near there, I decided to give it its own pages.  Here you can see some of the places I like and dislike in the Northwest.  The pictures are thumbnailed yet again to save time and space.
The cultural capital of the NorthWest!

The main rival to the cultural capital of the NorthWest!  This is the Trafford Centre, Manchester, which has to be the most tasteless, vulgar, architecturely challenged set of buildings I've ever seen.  Anyone who has been to Egypt, Rome, New Orleans or any Chinatown must feel sad at the dreadful pastiches of those places. A grotesque temple to Mammon!

Note the contrast between this benighted pile of brick and concrete excrement and the buildings in Manchester below.

Buddha 1 Buddha 2 Snake Crab
Manchester University

Inside Manchester Museum - An excellent Buddha, one of the many snakes, and a giant spider crab which is still capable of fascinating children. The museum is currently being renovated, so many of its galleries are not open, but it's still worth a visit. It's just down the road from Manchester University.

Botany Bay - an old mill on the side of the M61, near Chorley. It is an antique and craft centre, on 4 floors, and also has an odd collection of vehicles on show. As a Shopping Centre, it totally defeats the Trafford Centre!
The Mormon Temple at Chorley
Hartshead Pike - A strange folly overlooking Ashton & Oldham
