On the first sunny Sunday of Spring, I decided that I would find all of the pubs in Glossop, Hadfield and Padfield, and photograph them for these pages. I was surprised to find that there were 46 in all. When I add the other 'local' pubs, I think I'll find another 15 or so.
It amazes me that in such a small area, there are so many, and so many different types. From local boozers to pleasant eating places, this area caters for all types of drinker - from your hardened drunk to the occasional social drinker.
As we are situated at the edge of the Peak District, you would think that there were many pubs catering for the tourist trade. This is definitely not the case. Although tourists are welcome, the pubs of Glossop remain stubbornly local, with their own regular clientele.
As time goes by, I'll try to update the short reviews I've made, and even include more photos, so you can see what the inside of these places looks like!
