The
temple at Luxor seems to be on a much more human scale than Karnak, probably
because it was built within a couple of hundred years. It is also one of the
few sites in Egypt where Tutankhamen is mentioned, as some of it was restored
during his short reign.
Looking
back through the colonnade to the temple entrance. The mosque on the right is
built upon the ruins, and usually there are open windows full of children shouting
Hello to the tourists.
Getting
close to sunset, the floodlights start to come on.
The
ruins are now at their most romantic, as the sun has set, and the floodlights
colour the stones.
